Ohio Library Receives Top Reference Award
Congratulations to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library! They’re the recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Reference Award, sponsored by ReferenceUSA, for “Living Better, Spending Smarter,” an online resource dedicated to personal finance, investment, and referral information in northwest Ohio.
Melissa Jeter, an adult services librarian and Linda Koss, a grant specialist in business technology, created the service for other librarians and patrons to serve as a one-stop shop for local library information and financial literacy education provided by the state and federal government.
The duo researched free, reliable sources from the internet. They also pulled information from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
